The ‘winners’ of the Prestigious 2007 Regional Achievement and Community Awards were announced by the Hon Eric Ripper MLA, Deputy Premier of Western Australia at a Gala Awards Presentation Dinner at the Parmelia Hilton  on Friday night 23^rd November.

Nearly 300 guests from all over the state gathered to celebrate the wonderful achievements of many of regional and rural Western Australia’s highest achievers.

The Racing and Wagering Western Australia Events and Tourism Award went to our own Country Music Club of Boyup Brook.

The Country Music Club of Boyup Brook acts as a peak arts body for the Boyup Brook community and celebrates cultural and social opportunities with its main event the Boyup Brook Country Music Festival involving 350 volunteers, 36 organisations and 16,000 visitors over the four days. The Festival incorporates the Western Australian Country Music Awards, Boyup Ute and Truck Muster, A Street Carnival, Concerts, Workshops, and WA’s biggest Bush Poet’s Breakfast. Four years ago the Club decided upon a new venue with John Williamson in 2007 opening the new music park complete with reticulated grassed lawns, power and lighting and a permanent stage and sound shell.
